Squamish Hills is Carl's own title, written in pencil on the back of the wood stretcher. Squamish lies below the ski resort of Whistler/Blackcomb, site of the 2010 Winter Olympics, but was in the early seventies pretty much the northern end of Highway 99. This painting was probably based on a sketch done on a family visit to the area.
