This was sent out as a Christmas card to family and friends. The individual images were not numbered. Most of the cards were printed on heavy paper stock, but a few were printed on fabric. The image shown here was one of the fabric prints.

This is one of the few serigraphs Carl produced in solid colors, which suits the "medieval" look along with the faux-archaic spelling of Shepherds: in effect, this silk-screen print is made to look like a woodcut.
