Rubber Plantation - Carl van den Bosch

Carl worked as supervisor on rubber estates for some years before and after the Second World War. Rubber trees are planted in neat rows and, when mature, tapped for their sap, which is reduced to latex.

Oil paint on canvas. Size unknown. 1960's, London, Ontario. Location unknown, but a family photo album notes that it was given away as a wedding present. This image is derived from the print of a colour photograph.
